Shopware
Capture Shopware orders with the storefront snippet or a Flow Builder webhook and attribute revenue to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and other AI search engines.
Overview
What you get with the Shopware integration
Finseo connects to Shopware in two ways. Option A is the Finseo widget snippet in your theme: unlike Shopify, Shopware runs scripts on the checkout finish page, so the interceptor picks up GTM or GA4 purchase events from the dataLayer automatically, and shops without tracking can call finseoAttribution.trackConversion() on the finish page. Option B is a Flow Builder flow on Order placed (checkout.order.placed) with a Call URL (webhook) action that POSTs orderNumber, amountTotal, currency, and customer email to your Finseo webhook. Either way, orders arrive as conversions and merge with survey answers so revenue is attributed to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini.
Use cases
What you can do with Shopware and Finseo
Real ways Shopware customers use Finseo to track and grow AI search revenue.
- 01
Zero-setup order capture
If your shop already pushes purchase events to the dataLayer through a GTM or GA4 extension, the Finseo snippet captures every order on the finish page with no additional configuration.
- 02
Server-side Flow Builder webhook
On Evolve or higher, a flow on checkout.order.placed sends order number, amountTotal, currency, and email server-side. No dependency on browser tracking or ad blockers.
- 03
Survey on the finish page
Because Shopware allows scripts on the checkout finish page, the Finseo popup can ask "How did you hear about us?" right after purchase and merge the answer with the order immediately.
- 04
Revenue per AI engine
Orders carry amountTotal and currency. The Attribution dashboard shows Shopware revenue from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews next to organic and paid.
- 05
AEO prioritization for B2B and B2C shops
Compare AI search revenue against other channels and decide which Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) tasks in Finseo deserve attention first.
Why it matters
Why Shopware customers need AI visibility tracking
Shopware is one of the leading commerce platforms in Europe, especially in the DACH region, and its merchants increasingly see buyers who researched products in ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google AI Overviews. Those sessions rarely carry a referrer that analytics tools understand, so the revenue looks like direct traffic. Shopware's open checkout finish page and its Flow Builder make it one of the easiest platforms to connect. Finseo gives Shopware stores revenue per AI engine within minutes, on any plan, without a marketplace extension.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about Shopware
Answers to the most common questions about the Shopware integration.
Two ways. The Finseo widget snippet in your theme captures purchase events from the dataLayer on the checkout finish page, which works on every Shopware plan. Alternatively, a Flow Builder flow on Order placed sends order data server-side to your Finseo webhook via a Call URL (webhook) action.
The Flow Builder action Call URL (webhook) requires the Shopware Evolve plan or higher, because webhook actions are a Commercial feature. On Rise or Community edition, use the Finseo snippet in your theme instead. The snippet captures purchases on the finish page and needs no paid plan.
Shopify sandboxes its checkout and thank-you page, so external scripts cannot run there. Shopware runs theme scripts on the checkout finish page, so the Finseo interceptor sees the purchase event in the dataLayer and can even show the survey popup right after the order.
A JSON body with orderNumber, amountTotal, currency with its isoCode, orderCustomer with the email, and an empty lineItems array, built from Twig variables like {{ order.orderNumber }}. Finseo stores the order as a conversion and uses the email and order number as merge keys.
Call finseoAttribution.trackConversion() on the finish page with the order data, or use the Flow Builder webhook if you are on Evolve or higher. The snippet must be loaded in the theme first. Either path stores the order as a conversion in Finseo.
Yes. Once orders merge with survey answers, Finseo categorizes the source into AI buckets such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews and aggregates amountTotal per engine. The Attribution dashboard shows Shopware revenue by AI engine over any date range.
Conversions need a survey answer to merge with. Add the Finseo survey popup to your storefront so customers answer "How did you hear about us?". Orders then merge via email within a 90-day window, or immediately via order number when the answer is given on the finish page.
Your Shopware plan does not include the webhook action, which is Evolve or higher only. Paste the Finseo snippet into your theme instead. It captures purchases from the finish page through your existing GTM or GA4 tracking, or via finseoAttribution.trackConversion().
