Looker Studio

Import your Finseo AI search visibility data straight into Google Looker Studio with the native community connector. Build custom dashboards and white-label client reports from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Grok, and Google AI Overviews data.

Overview

What you get with the Looker Studio integration

Finseo ships a community connector for Google Looker Studio so you can visualize your AI search visibility data with the same tool you already use for client reporting. Pick a project, choose one of five report types, and Looker Studio pulls live numbers that match your Finseo dashboard exactly. Use the Looker Studio date range picker to control the timeframe, blend it with Search Console, and build white-label reports for every client.

Use cases

What you can do with Looker Studio and Finseo

Real ways Looker Studio customers use Finseo to track and grow AI search revenue.

  1. 01

    White-label client reports

Agencies build branded AI visibility reports in the same Looker Studio workspace they already use. Pull visibility rate, brand mentions, average position, and sentiment into scorecards and trend charts clients recognize.

  2. 02

    Visibility trend dashboards

The visibility per day report returns one row per day with visibility rate, brand mentions, answers analyzed, average position, and sentiment. Perfect for trend charts, scorecards, and period-over-period comparisons.

  3. 03

    Competitor benchmarking

The competitor ranking report returns the top 50 competitors in the selected range with mentions, visibility rate, position, and sentiment. Turn it into bar charts and share-of-voice tables.

  4. 04

    Source and citation analysis

The top cited sources report lists the top 50 cited domains with citations, citation rate, and source type. Build citation-share pies and source tables to guide your digital PR strategy.

  5. 05

    Prompt and fan-out breakdowns

The prompt performance and query fan-out reports let you slice visibility by tracked prompt and by the search queries AI models ran while answering. Group by tag for branded vs non-branded pages.

Why it matters

Why Looker Studio customers need AI visibility tracking

Marketing teams and agencies already live in Looker Studio for SEO, paid, and web analytics reporting. Rebuilding AI search reporting in a separate tool creates friction and makes it harder to prove GEO impact to stakeholders. The Finseo connector puts AI visibility data next to your existing Search Console, GA4, and ad data in one report, so AI search becomes a first-class channel in the dashboards decision makers already read.

How to connect

How to connect Looker Studio to Finseo

A few steps to wire up your Looker Studio account with Finseo. No code required.

  1. 01

    Open the Finseo connector

Open the Finseo community connector link in Looker Studio while signed in with your Google account. You can find the connector link in the Finseo docs at docs.finseo.ai/looker-studio.

  2. 02

    Authorize the connector

Google asks for a one-time authorization so the connector can fetch data on your behalf. Click Authorize and confirm. This grants the connector permission to call the Finseo API, nothing else.

  3. 03

    Enter your Finseo API key

Paste a read-scoped Finseo API key (it starts with sk_live_) and click Submit. Create one in the Finseo dashboard under Settings, API, Create Key if you do not have one yet.

  4. 04

    Configure the data source

Choose your project, a report type (visibility per day, competitor ranking, top cited sources, prompt performance, or query fan-outs), and optionally an AI model filter and a comma-separated tag filter.

  5. 05

    Connect and build

Click Connect, review the field list, then Create Report. Use the Looker Studio date range picker to control the timeframe (up to 90 days). Your API key is stored per Google user and can be replaced anytime via Edit connection.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Looker Studio

Answers to the most common questions about the Looker Studio integration.

Open the Finseo community connector in Looker Studio while signed in with your Google account, authorize it once, then paste a read-scoped Finseo API key that starts with sk_live_. Choose your project and report type, click Connect, and Create Report. Full steps are in the docs at docs.finseo.ai/looker-studio.

You need a Finseo account on a paid plan with at least one tracking project, a Finseo API key with read scope (create one under Settings, API, Create Key), and a Google account with access to Looker Studio.

Five report types: Visibility per day (one row per day with visibility rate, brand mentions, answers analyzed, average position, and sentiment), Competitor ranking (top 50 competitors), Top cited sources (top 50 cited domains), Prompt performance (one row per tracked prompt), and Query fan-outs (the search queries AI models ran while answering your prompts).

Yes. Each data source supports an optional AI model filter and an optional comma-separated tag filter (for example Nonbrand, Kaufberatung). The tag filter limits every report type to prompts carrying at least one of those tags, which is useful for separate branded and non-branded report pages.

The Looker Studio date range picker controls the timeframe, up to 90 days. All report types return the same numbers you see in the Finseo dashboard for that range.

Yes. Add multiple data sources to a single report to combine, for example, the daily trend with the competitor ranking. You can also blend the visibility data source with your Search Console data to compare classic search and AI search side by side.

Your API key is stored per Google user by Looker Studio and is only used to call the Finseo API with read scope. You can replace it anytime via Edit connection. If a key is revoked or expired you will see an Invalid credentials error and can create a fresh key under Settings, API.

The connector returns data for days on which your project actually collected AI answers, so check the date range first. Responses are cached for five minutes, so very recent tracking runs can take a moment to appear. If the project is missing from the dropdown, your key is restricted to specific projects, create a key with access to all projects instead.
