   Create an Atlassian API token

   Go to id.atlassian.com, then Security, then API tokens. Click Create API token, name it, and copy the value.

   Connect in Finseo

   Open Integrations, then Jira, then Connect. Enter your site URL (your-team.atlassian.net without https://), your Atlassian account email, and the token, then save.

   Export a task as an issue

   On the Tasks page, open any task and choose Export to Jira. Pick the target project and optionally a Jira assignee.

   Under Tasks, then Automation, add a rule filtered by category and minimum impact, enable Create in PM tool, then Jira, and pick the project.

How does Finseo authenticate with Jira?

With Basic auth: the email of your Atlassian account plus an API token created at id.atlassian.com under Security, then API tokens. You also enter your site URL as the bare domain, for example acme.atlassian.net. Tokens created for a different Atlassian site will not work.

The integration is built for Jira Cloud and authenticates against your atlassian.net site. Self-hosted Jira Server or Data Center instances are not covered by the connector. If you run a self-hosted instance, contact us to discuss options such as the Finseo API or MCP.

Which Jira projects can I export into?

Any project in which your Jira user has permission to create issues. Finseo loads that project list when you open the picker. If a project is missing, check your project permissions in Jira, then reopen the picker in Finseo and the project appears.
