Server Logs AI Visibility Integration
Upload the access logs your web server already writes, or push bot requests as NDJSON, and see which pages the crawlers behind ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and Bing actually fetch. No CDN integration required.

Overview
AI crawler tracking with Server Logs.
See which AI crawlers, such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot, fetch your pages through Server Logs, and which ones never arrive. Server Logs gives you two ways to get crawler data into Finseo without a CDN integration.
01
Analyze AI crawlers without a CDN
Sites served directly from nginx or Apache have no edge integration to connect. Uploading the access log shows which pages GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and PerplexityBot fetched and how often, straight from your own server.
02
Backfill history before a live feed
Connected Cloudflare or Akamai recently? Upload older access logs to fill in the weeks before. Overlapping lines are skipped as duplicates, so the history and the live feed sit together in one Bot Traffic project.
03
Find crawlers that never visit
If Google-Extended or OAI-SearchBot does not appear in a month of logs, a robots.txt rule, firewall, or bot protection is probably blocking it.
04
Spot errors AI bots run into
Every log line carries the HTTP status. Bot Traffic breaks responses down by crawler, so redirects, 404s, and 5xx errors that stop ChatGPT, Gemini, or Microsoft Copilot from reading a page become visible.
05
Stream a bot-only log on a schedule
The setup dialog includes an nginx config that writes a second, bot-only access log and a cron job that pushes it to Finseo every 10 minutes.
Examples
How teams use Server Logs with Finseo.
Four examples of what happens in Finseo once Server Logs is connected, shown with the fields and labels from the app.
01 Example A
Who reads your pages
Every visit is sorted by purpose: live answers while someone asks, the search index, or model training.

02 Example B
Where crawlers come from
Countries and data-centre cities of the bots' servers, so you know which regions your firewall must let through.

03 Example C
Blocked crawlers, flagged
401, 403 and 429 answers show up as Blocked, with what it means and which rule to change.

Crawl budget
See how much of each crawler's time goes to content pages, technical endpoints, assets or robots.txt and llms.txt.

Comparison
Server Logs alone vs Server Logs with Finseo.
How using Server Logs on its own compares to pairing it with Finseo for AI visibility and attribution.
AI crawler visibility
Server Logs alone
Invisible to JavaScript analytics
Server Logs + Finseo
Every crawler request in your access log
Infrastructure
Server Logs alone
Requires a CDN integration
Server Logs + Finseo
Works with any server that writes access logs
Filtering
Server Logs alone
Grep for bot User-Agents by hand
Server Logs + Finseo
Only known crawlers are kept, the rest discarded
Duplicates
Server Logs alone
Overlapping exports double count
Server Logs + Finseo
Visits deduplicated across uploads and feeds
Freshness
Server Logs alone
Whenever someone exports a file
Server Logs + Finseo
Optional NDJSON push, e.g. every 10 minutes
How it connects
How the Server Logs AI visibility integration works.

Why it matters
Why Server Logs customers need AI visibility tracking.
AI crawlers such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and PerplexityBot do not run JavaScript, so tag-based web analytics never sees them. The only complete record of what the crawlers behind ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini read on your site is the request log your server or CDN writes.

Step 01
Export an access log
Download the access log from your web server or hosting panel, for example /var/log/nginx/access.log or an Apache access_log. Finseo accepts .log and .txt files up to 1 GB.
Step 02
Upload it in Bot Traffic
In Finseo, open Bot Traffic and click Upload Logs. Drag the file into the Upload Server Logs dialog or pick it from disk. Finseo reads the first lines and detects the log format automatically.
Step 03
Review the result
Smaller files are processed right away and the dialog reports the bot visits found and any duplicates skipped. Files larger than 50 MB are processed in the background and appear once processing finishes.
Step 04
Optional: connect a live push
On the Sync tab, click Connect on the Server Logs / API card. Finseo shows an endpoint URL and an Authorization header with a Bearer token, plus a curl example and an nginx template for a bot-only log.
Step 05
Send the first batch
POST NDJSON with at least ClientIP, ClientRequestUserAgent, ClientRequestPath, and EdgeStartTimestamp per line, plaintext or gzip. The card switches from Awaiting first push to Connected when the first batch arrives.
